Sophia Chadda, DDS
Dr. Chadda is a specialist in Periodontics and Dental Implants. A specialty in Periodontics requires an additional three years of surgical training after dental school. In addition, Dr. Chadda is Board Certified by the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Sophia Chadda received her B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University. She then attended the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 1997 with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. While in dental school, Dr. Chadda did research involving the link between dental disease and cardiovascular disease. She then went onto UMDNJ and received her certificate in Periodontics in 2000.
Dr. Chadda is an active member of the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the New Jersey Society of Periodontists where she is the past Vice President and the Tri-County Dental Society where she is past President. Dr. Chadda is also a former Assistant Professor of Periodontics at Rutgers Dental School. She is always attending courses and seminars to bring her patients the most recent and state-of-the-art techniques and therapies. Dr. Chadda was selected as a top dentist by New Jersey Monthly magazine in 2014 & 2015.
Dr. Chadda is a graduate of Leadership Somerset, a county program that supports leaders dedicated to their local communities. Locally, she serves on the Bernards Township Diversity and Inclusion Committee, serves as a member of the Bernards Township Domestic violence response team which works in conjunction with the Bernards Township Police Department, served on the Bernards Township Board of Health, and previously ran for Bernards Township Committee. She was a member of the Commission on the Status of Women and volunteered at the local schools her children attend. Dr. Chadda is also involved as the Vice-Chairperson of the Somerset County Improvement Authority.
Dr. Chadda is also on the board of trustees of the International Foundation for Progress, which runs a free school and health clinic for 175 children in Pakistan and aims to provide education and healthcare to impoverished children in the developing world.
In her spare time, Dr. Chadda likes to play tennis, read, and spend time with friends.

A clinical assistant professor of periodontics at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, she maintains an ongoing philanthropic involvement to benefit underprivileged children overseas.
